Terms of Service

Last updated: May 3, 2026

Please read these Terms before using Tag-a-Tutor. By creating an account or using any part of the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Who we are

"Tag-a-Tutor," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Tag-a-Tutor, operated by Jack Cleveland in Dallas, Texas. "Service" means the website at tag-a-tutor.vercel.app and any related features.

2. Eligibility

  • Students and tutors must be enrolled at a school that has an active subscription to Tag-a-Tutor.
  • Parents using the TAG feature must be the parent or legal guardian of the child the request is about.
  • Children under 13 do not create accounts directly. A parent submits a TAG request on their behalf and provides the information.

3. Accounts

  • You're responsible for keeping your password (or Google sign-in credentials) secure. Don't share them.
  • You must give accurate information when you sign up — real name, real school, real child's name. Misrepresenting yourself or your child to gain access to the platform is a basis for immediate termination.
  • One person, one account. Don't impersonate someone else.
  • Tag-a-Tutor isn't responsible for losses resulting from someone else accessing your account when you didn't keep your credentials safe.

4. Acceptable use

While using the service you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or insult other users in messages, reviews, or board posts.
  • Submit reviews you didn't actually write or sessions you didn't actually have.
  • Use the platform to share or solicit anything illegal, sexually explicit, or unsafe for minors.
  • Try to bypass moderation, the school facilitator's review of TAG matches, or the multi-tenant isolation between schools.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish other users' data, including tutor profiles, reviews, or messages.
  • Reverse-engineer, attack, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the system.

Violations may result in your account being suspended or removed without notice.

5. The TAG feature, specifically

  • TAG matches are between a peer tutor and a parent. Tag-a-Tutor is a coordination platform; we do not employ, supervise, or vet the individual peer tutors beyond the school's own certification and the school facilitator's review of each match.
  • The school facilitator is the trusted reviewer for whether a particular tutor is appropriate for a particular child. By submitting a TAG request, you accept that the school facilitator's judgment governs whether a match goes forward.
  • Once a match is confirmed, parents and tutors coordinate the actual session details (location, exact time, materials) directly. Sessions happen offline. Tag-a-Tutor is not present at, supervising, or responsible for what happens during a session. Schools are encouraged to require sessions to take place in supervised public spaces on school grounds.

6. Content you submit

You keep ownership of anything you write into the platform — your bio, your messages, your reviews. By submitting it, you grant Tag-a-Tutor a non-exclusive license to display it to other users at your school as part of normal service operation, and to keep a backup copy. We don't use your content for marketing or sell it.

7. Reviews

  • Reviews must be honest, based on a real session, and free of personal attacks or sensitive personal information.
  • Tag-a-Tutor and school administrators may remove reviews that violate these Terms (harassment, misinformation, off-topic content). We do not edit reviews — we only remove them.

8. Pricing and payments

Tag-a-Tutor is currently provided free of charge to subscribed schools. If pricing is introduced in the future, we will notify subscribed schools at least 60 days before any change takes effect, and no school will be charged retroactively.

9. School subscriptions

A school joins Tag-a-Tutor by submitting a request from the landing page. The request is reviewed and either approved or declined. The terms below apply once a school is approved:

  • The school is responsible for designating an admin and a TAG facilitator (the same person can fill both roles).
  • The school controls who at the school may use the platform via its email-domain configuration.
  • The school may stop using the platform at any time by emailing us. We will export the school's data to the school within 30 days of receiving the request and delete it from our systems within 60 days.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing info@tagatutor.org. We can suspend or close any account that violates these Terms or applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Sections 6, 11, 12, 13) will survive.

11. Disclaimers

Tag-a-Tutor is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against all attacks, or always able to deliver email or schedule notifications.

We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or accuracy of any tutoring session, tutor, parent, review, message, or any other user-submitted content. Use the platform at your own discretion.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tag-a-Tutor and its operator will not be liable to you or any third party for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or anything else arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any direct damages will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100).

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tag-a-Tutor and its operator from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If a change is material, we'll notify active users by email. Continuing to use Tag-a-Tutor after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
